Hello!  My name is Christine Kecskemeti and I'm the 4th grade teacher in 405.  Originally from Canada, I have been teaching in New York City's public schools for 8 years.  In the past, I've taught 3rd, 5th and 6th grades. For the last four years, I have been teaching 4th grade.  Both my Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Education degrees were completed in Canada at McMaster University and University of Toronto respectively.  I have a Master's degree from Hunter College in TESOL (Teaching English to Students of Other Languages).  It's great to be apart of PS 51!

Hi everyone! My name is Leah Fernandes and I’m the General Education Teacher in the 4th grade ICT classroom. This is my second year teaching, but my first year teaching full-time in my own classroom at PS 51. Last year, I fulfilled 3 maternity leaves at 51- first in 4th grade ICT, next in 5th grade ICT, and in June I worked in 2nd grade ICT! This was a wonderful opportunity allowing me to gain experience with so many different curriculums. Needless to say, I was thrilled when Mrs. Sing-Bock offered me a full-time position at this amazing school! I completed my Bachelor’s Degree at Stony Brook University with a degree in Sociology. My Master’s Degree in Childhood Education was completed at Hunter College. I am looking forward to many more years of teaching and learning at PS 51.
