Dana Goldberg, Assistant Principal/Library Coordinator
I have been an educator for 15 years now. For 13 of those 15 years, I have been able to call P.S. 51 my home. I consider myself incredibly lucky to do so. The community and spirit of this school is strong, supportive and welcoming. We are one big, happy family and I am honored to be a part of that.
I first started here as a fourth grade teacher, then a third grade teacher. After that I became a second grade teacher and then the librarian. Currently I am the assistant principal. I love being able to work with all the wonderful students who attend P.S. 51.
I grew up in New City, New York. I received my Bachelors Degree in Communications from the University of Rhode Island. I then went on to earn a Masters Degree in Elementary Education from Fordham University. Since then, I have continued my education taking courses to further and enhance my knowledge as a teacher. Last year I received a Masters Degree from Hunter College in administration and supervision in Pre-K to 12 educational settings.
Although I am no longer teaching library classes, I am still the library coordinator. Classroom teachers will bring their students to the library to check out books and utilize all of our resources. Below is the P.S. 51 library contract for Grade 2-5 students. If you and your child have not yet signed a copy, please download the contract below, sign it, and return to your child's teacher. This contract must be returned to school so that your child can check out books from the school library.
