Dana Goldberg, Library Teacher

I have been a teacher for 14 years now. For 12 of those 14 years, I have been able to call P.S. 51 my home. I consider myself incredibly lucky to do so. The community and spirit of this school is strong, supportive and welcoming. We are one big, happy family and I am honored to be a part of that.  I first started here as a fourth grade teacher, then a third grade teacher. After that I became a second grade teacher. Currently I am working as an administrative intern, library teacher, intervention teacher and mentor to new teachers. I love being able to work with all the wonderful students who attend P.S. 51.  In addition to my library duties, I am also the AIT chairperson.

I grew up in New City, New York. I received my Bachelors Degree in Communications from the University of Rhode Island. I then went on to earn my Masters Degree in Elementary Education from Fordham University. Since then, I have continued my education taking courses to further and enhance my knowledge as a teacher. Currently, I am enrolled in a post-masters advanced certificate program at Hunter College to prepare teachers for roles in administration and supervision in Pre-K to 12 educational settings.

Below is the P.S. 51 library contract for Grade 2-5 students.  If you and your child have not yet signed a copy, please download the contract below, sign it, and return  to your child's teacher. This contract must be returned to school so that your child can check out books from the school library.
