Welcome back to our returning families and a warm welcome to those just joining our small community. For over 100 years, Public School 51 has served our community by providing our children a strong educational foundation in a nurturing and stimulating environment.
That legacy continues due to the hard work and dedication of our administration, faculty, staff, and your children. Maintaining our school’s excellence requires all parents to participate fully in our children’s education with donations of time, effort, and money. Through our PTA, parents ensure a rich and well-rounded academic experience for our children. The PTA raises funds throughout the year, which pay for:
Museum visits * Class trips * Art projects and supplies * Tap classes at Rosie’s Theater Kids Musical instruments * Ballroom dancing * Asphalt Green * Striking Vikings/Story Pirates theater education program * Library books * Peer mediation training * New technology * and many more significant programs in and out of the classroom.
Schools citywide, including our small community school, have suffered budget cuts again this year. We, as a community must unite for our children to offset the loss. We encourage each family to contribute $100.00 for the year in the pre-labeled envelope that is provided. Please give what you can, but do give something. No donation is ever too small.
Programs that were offered in the past; should be available in the future; and we request your support on behalf of the children of Public School 51.
With Warm Regards,
The PTA Executive Board of Public School 51
